Bernie Sanders

I have to give the man credit.

If you had a incumbent congressman who had been in DC for a quarter-Century, become a multi-millionaire living above his reported means from all the usual congressional hijynx, who had accomplished nothing, you wouldnt think too many would be eager to defend him. You would figure that only the most ignorant and ill-informed would consider him an "outsider", and even the most gullible would be suspicious of his claimed intent to bring change to the system.

Add in that he publicly has championed for his entire time in politics, about 35 years, the idea that all jobs should pay the same; no, not a raise so that high school kids slinging burgers on the weekend earn as much as doctors and lawyers. No. Rather, a pay cut so that everyone (other than politicians, of course) earns as little as the burger slingers.

Add to that his biggest popularity is the 18-25 age bracket. The internet has been scrubbed pretty good of all the times he pushed for re-instating the draft during the 90s. His biggest fans are the people he wants to force into military service. He doesnt want to do it for war or anything like that. Oh no. He just feels its "unfair" that so many poor and middle class people, just starting out in life, use a contracted term or two in the Service to help them get an advantage, that leg up to stable middle class; the GI Bill, training in a career path, and a few years of "free room and board". (we in the service often joke that its illegal to charge for the quality of accommodations we get) No, his idea of "fair", was to force people into service, unwillingly, because "the rich should serve too." Well, except that they do, usually as officers. There are some perks to being able to go to college before joining, instead of joining to pay for going.

The fact that Bernie Sanders has been able to do this, be open about it, and still get 88% support from the 18-25 age bracket, as well as his numbers in the other brackets;

Ya gotta give the man credit. This is as good a con job. I dont know if he's this slick, the media's working this hard to help him, or that his target audience is really so easy to deceive.
